The skull belonged to Rudy's father.  He brought it back from the dump site in Bisbee.  He knew the family that was charged with body disposal and had seen them litter the human remains in the field.  It could have been his mother.  He brought her there for cremation and had scattered the 'ashes' in the Pinaleo mountains per her request.  Later...

To commemorate the day Elvis died in 1977 Maria created this Dios del Muerto doll.  She made the king of rock and roll a skeleton boxer because that is how she saw him when she closed her eyes and softly hummed Love Me Tender.  She saw him in Vegas in the 70s and still slept with the sweat-soaked white polyester scarf he gently wrapped around her neck one balmy August night.  Later...

Their father Dave was an old goth from Santa Barbara and he loved his daughters like he loved his black nail polish.  He made them a custom leather poncho and they wore it everywhere, even the beach.  A genetic condition prevented Pyrenees and Biscay from ever enjoying a full and productive life, but they had the poncho to keep them safe and Dave was happy.  Later...
