Imagine floating in 10 inches of Epsom Salt Saturated water that allows you to remain buoyant effortlessly. The tank is dark and the water is heated to match your skin temperature making it impossible to distinguish where your body ends and the water begins. It was in the late 1800′s that animal shaped cookies were imported to the United States from England and they very quickly grew in popularity. In 1902 animal crackers officially became known as “Barnum’s Animals” and evoked the familiar circus theme of the Barnum and Bailey Circus. Later that year, the now-familiar box was designed for the Christmas season made with a string to hang from the Christmas tree. At that time, these boxes of Animal Crackers sold for five cents a box.

Celebrated each year in the United States on April 12, it is National Big Wind Day. This day commemorates the recording of, what was, the highest natural wind gust measured on the Earth’s surface. On the afternoon of April 12, 1934, the Mount Washington Observatory recorded winds at 231 miles per hour.  Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 ft and it is the most prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River.
